Success at anything requires determination. When considering the dangers of nicotine and other addictive substances to health, it sounds like it should be a no-brainer. Right? Wrong. Addictions of any kind can be challenging to overcome, which is why many try and fail, even with the knowledge of the seriousness of the health implications.
Nicotine addiction is a contributory factor to the leading cause of lung cancer. Smoking also exacerbates cardiovascular disease, infertility, diabetes, pregnancy complications, and many other health issues. Health organisations have attempted to proclaim the dangers through campaigns, but more work is still required. It is not enough to warn the public, yet fail to pass legislation limiting or hindering the mass production of what we are warned about. It should be evident in everyone's mind that such actions are considered hypocritical.
It should then be a mission for those who prefer to promote good health to point the struggling addicts in the direction of how to conquer this destructive habit, because tobacco companies are least concerned with who purchases their products. Think about that. If you cut your life short by contracting lung cancer, it has never been heard that a tobacco company sent condolences, why you may ask, simply because they are a business that operates to make a profit and not a humanitarian organisation.
The simple advice is to take care of your health. If you do not, who will? If you are struggling with this kind of addiction, get in touch and receive tips on how you can start helping yourself; as mentioned above, it is a no-brainer.
